Health can been defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of any disease or infirmity.

Fitness

Physical fitness can be defined as good all round bodily health, brought about by regular exercise, proper diet and nutrition, together with adequate rest for full physical recovery resulting in physical strength, agility, and endurance.

Physical fitness and body composition

Exercise can be devided loosely into two groups aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise.

Aerobic exercise particularly for cardiovascular endurance and cardiorespiratory fitness includes lower intensity activities performed for longer periods of time. Such activities include: walking, running, swimming, and cycling and require a great deal of oxygen to generate the energy needed for prolonged exercise.

Anaerobic exercise is used by many athletes in non-endurance type sports to build up muscle power and potential and by body builders to build body muscle mass. Muscles trained under anaerobic conditions develop quite differently to muscle developed under aerobic exercise which leads to greater performance over short durations, during high intensity activities, which probably last about two minutes only.

Core Muscle Training also referred to as Core Training, Core Stability or Core Strengthening is physical training that focuses on the core muscles of the body. The health and fitness industry might well see this as an exercise routine aimed at improving the overall health and fitness, in this context, it can involve proper hydration, natural nutrition, daily core exercises, body relaxation and recreation.

Other forms of excersice are popular and helpful in development of the active human, including agility training including Yogic exercises, accuracy, agility, balance, coordination and flexibility training to name a few.

Mental and emotional health

Mental health is a concept that refers to a human individual's emotional and psychological well-being, best defined as a state of emotional and psychological well-being in which the individual is able to use their cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life.

Diet and Nutrition

Dietary matters relating to health, well-being and optimal nutrition through ballanced intake of fibre, carbohydrates, sugars and fats combined with essential minerals and salts.

Rest and Recouperation

Regular rest and sleep are necessary for human survival. While sleep is essential, its purpose is only partly clear and is the subject of intense research.

Recreation is another essential to the longevity of human beings, especially because it helps to counteract stress, which according to research is a major factor in many of the leading causes of ill health or even death world wide.
